Here are the Global Mission Trips we are taking in 2011:

MFuge @ Greenville, SC

At MFuge you can roll your sleeves up and get ready to jump right into ministry…our highly tranied FUGE staffers will take care of the details and facilitate the planning for each day. You and your students will get to invest your time and energy into a variety of mission projects (choose between Children’s Ministry, Games & Rec, Social Ministry, Creative Ministry or Painting, Construction, Yardwork). During the day your students will be challenged and stretched as individuals; in the evenings, you’ll have an opportunity to build group unity over dinner, worship, fellowships and Church Group Devotions.

Special Note: There must be 1 adult for every 5 kids

The cost includes all food, transportation, and lodging.

YWAM London
August 18-28
Cost: $1600
Leader: Curtis Williams

Rich teaching and testimony, fervent intercession & worship, practical evangelism and prophetic acts using the arts…

Calling the Church to come together and reach out to the hundreds, thousands of people coming to this one place at this time.

The BONES mission camp gives you the opportunity to join with others in preparing to make an impact at the Notting Hill Carnival. Specifically designed to equip you with tools, ignite you with passion and love for God and people and give you an opportunity to reach out and be part of transforming lives.

Throughout the 10 days before the Carnival there will be dedicated times of teaching, intercession, worship, evangelism and prophetic acts using the arts all in preparation for the 2 final days of Carnival where there will be different opportunities to serve and volunteer during the Carnival itself.

We use the facilities of Notting Hill Community Church and Westbourne Grove Church. The former is the church where the majority of our YWAM base attends on a Sunday and the latter we work with throughout the year, aiding them in any community projects they need.

We have a great need for musicians, for our worship times, for on the street evangelism and in the carnival itself. Music attracts a lot of attention which is unfortunately not something we’ve been able to utilize to the fullest due to a lack of musicians so we would find many ways for those in your group to be useful.

The cost covers all the food, showers and the accommodations (sleeping bags or air mattress and bedding are required as we will be on church floors).

Nepali Rescue Project
w/ KI Nepal (Ramesh)

A special conference will also be held to help teach and equip women ministering to these girls. Topics will include Identity in Christ, Basic Discipleship and Spiritual Formation.

The cost includes airfare, food, lodging and transportation.

YWAM Dominican Republic
Homes of Hope
July 8-14
Focus: Construction, Evangelism
Leaders: Curtis Williams and John Ruane
Cost: $1500

The team will build a Home of Hope house for a family in need. We fly into Santa Domingo and then travel 2 hours into the interior of the Island. A family will be pre-selected to receive a Home of Hope.

The construction of the home takes 4 days. It is half cinder block and half wood structure. We will also install furniture and appliances. YWAM uses the Homes of Hope primarily for an in road into a new community. Our team will be one of the first to build a Home of Hope in the Dominican Republic.

The cost includes airfare, food, lodging and transportation.

Thailand
July 2011
Focus: Orphan Care, Evangelism
Leaders: Curtis Williams
Dates: Mid to Late July
Cost: $2800

The team will join Tess and Tyson Bush as they minister at the Hope House Children’s home – play sports, games, teach, and share the Bible. We also travel to remote mountain tribal villages to pray for the sick and share the Gospel.

Hope House Children’s Home is located in Chiang Mai, Thailand. Most of the kids who come to Hope House Children’s Home were living below the poverty line in remote villages in the highlands of Thailand. They are either abandoned or neglected and have no access to an education. These young children in Thailand are at risk of being sold into prostitution or child labor. Hope House rescues these children from this sad fate by providing them with a place that they can call home. Currently Hope House Children’s Home educates, feeds and clothes 45 destitute children from the surrounding mountain areas.

Tourist days may include going to an elephant camp, tiger camp, temple prayer walk, handicraft villages, and visiting the mall.

The cost includes airfare, food, lodging and transportation.

Guest Speaker Iris Aryan This Week at CrosStone

January 13, 2009

This week at CrosStone should be a GREAT night! As a part of the Global PEACE Conference, our guest speaker for the night will be Iris Aryan who, along with her husband Tony, is a missionary to the Muslin world. She will be sharing with us about the ministry that she and her husband are performing, and we will have the privilege of praying for her as only we CrosStoners can!!! Come expecting to be blessed and to be a blessing!

Global PEACE Conference begins today!

January 11, 2009

This Sunday we kick off our annual Global PEACE conference. Our conference runs from January 11th through 18th. We welcome Tom Adleta from South Africa, Ramesh Sapkota from Nepal, Iris Aryan, and Justin and Heidi Long from Malaysia.

All of our missionaries will be in small groups throughout the week, eating dinner at homes, and meeting with staff to plan 2009 activities in their respective countries. I look forward to hearing from each of them as they share what God is doing around the world.

Let’s continue to pray for God to move and have his way at Greenbrier. May each of us be inspired and receive all these missionaries have to impart!

Update from Eric, part 4

September 15, 2008

We had a 2 hour Q&A session allowing the training participants to ask any question about anything in scripture.  They are hungry to do so as they have no one to ask their questions of.  Questions included asking for clarification on body/soul/spirit, demonization, and  the meaning of specific verses.  They are so hungry to know the Word.

We celebrated the Lord’s day in the afternoon with kebabs! We talked about the real meaning of faith, belief and obedience and how the “finish line” is Jesus: not earthly pleasure or material possessions.  Following our last 90 minute Q and A session, we held our ‘commissioning’.
———————————————-

Eric, Terry and the team will be home in a couple of days. Thank you for praying for them as they served those who pay an enormous price, and count it a privilege, to stand for Christ.

Update from Eric, part 3

September 15, 2008

The day started at 0630 with the sounds of joyful worship filling the air.  Though our (national) brothers and sisters came from 11 different cities and had just met three days earlier, the bonds of the Spirit have made us like family.  We spent nearly 7 hours today in Hebrews and before the evening session began, several people shared their testimony.

“Ibrahim” shared that as a former rebel in a political movement he had lived a very hard and violent life.  One day he turned his radio on and heard the words of life for the first time [Christian radio broadcast beamed from abroad in his language].  For two years he copied down every word of the broadcast.   He brought the book [with him to show us]!  He committed his life to Jesus.  Ibrahim has scars on his back from being persecuted but his heart is filled with joy.

When we spoke about forgiveness, the tears poured.  One woman shared how she became a Christian 12 years ago.  She wrote a letter [to an overseas ministry] asking that they send another believer to visit her as she was the only believer she knew of in her city of 700,000.  But no one ever came. Because of her location and the difficulty of safely getting someone to her, her request went unanswered.  In the ensuing years she buried her mother, her sister, and shouldered much difficulty, all without the strengthening of another believer to walk beside.  This week at this training is the first time in her life that she has ever been around fellow believers and known Christian fellowship!

Join me in praying for Ibrahim and the many more who give all they have for the cause of Christ!

China PEACE 08 recap

September 14, 2008

(recap provided by team leader Bev Anderson)

The Summer English camp, run by the Chinese staff of Touching Hearts ministry plus Lily, Jeff and Bev Anderson, took place in an apartment building. We three slept on the 2nd floor, our Chinese sisters had the 3rd floor; the guys’ bedroom, the Chinese teaching, and meals all took place on the 4th floor, and the English teaching was a long climb up to the 5th floor!
Up at 6:15 for prayer. Breakfast at 7:30.  Two Chinese team members cooked. The ministry began at 8:30 where the Chinese team met with the children for team building and teaching. At 9:00, older children upstairs for English, younger ones stay on 4th floor: songs, drama, dance. Then at 11:00, children switch floors. Younger children have one hour of English. At 1:30, we ate lunch, either in or out. Around 3:00, activities, such as “Prince of Egypt” or practicing for the closing program on Sat. We had a break till 6:30 and dinner was usually “out”.
No regular evening activities — lesson planning, relaxing, and watching Olympics in China were pretty cool.

Special Opportunity:
One opportunity for the future is to host a Chinese teenager in your home for a month next summer. It’s a great way to influence the lives of Chinese people! Contact Bev for more information at 523-6321. The program is called Family to Family.
