Small Groups Launch in September

August 21, 2010

It is that time of year! We will be launching our Small Groups @ Greenbrier over two Sundays, September 5th and 12th. Three out of four adults that attend Greenbrier Church join a small group each year. Small Groups are a place for our members and attendees to “plug in” to what God is doing in our midst. It says in Hebrews 10:25, “Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another-and all the more as you see the Day approaching.”

Life is about relationships. At Greenbrier, we want to do life together. Being part of a network of good friends can provide one with the strength, confidence, and joy needed to carry out our personal and corporate callings in Christ. We all need to be in relationship and fellowship with God and each other.

Here’s the challenge: 1) check out all the small groups offered @ Greenbrier in the booklet provided on September 5th; 2) choose the top three small groups you’d like to attend; 3) come find out more about the groups on September 5th and 12th from 10:30 am to 11:00 am in the Fellowship Hall; 4) pick one, sign up, make new friends, and grow in your walk with God!

Small Group Signups January 10th and 17th

January 9, 2010

The new year brings new opportunities to forge friendships that last a lifetime. On Sunday, January 10th and 17th, we will have Small Group signups from 10:30 am to 11:00 am to give those who call Greenbrier Church home an opportunity to find their place to “connect in”. We are offering 30 small groups this winter/spring 2010.

Pray and ask God which small group you should join. This is a safe place to grow your faith and share your gifts with family. Don’t miss this opportunity to discover new friends. Any questions, contact Pastor Curtis @ 819-1070.

It’s LAUNCH time!

September 2, 2008

Our church is made up of great people. We are great people who love to be in relationship with one another. That’s why I am looking forward to our small group launch this Sunday, September 7th and next Sunday, September 14th as well. You will have the opportunity to sign up for the small group of your choosing. I want to encourage you to find a group. It’s the best way to find community. It’s also a wonderful place to use the gifts God has given you. Some of the highlights of my experience @ Greenbrier have taken place in a small group. I found life-long friends, new insights/perspectives, and a safe place to walk out my faith.

Next time you are in church, look to your left and then to your right. The people around you need your gift and life experience. Guess what, you need them as much as they need you.

If you need help selecting the “right” small group for you or your family, please come see me.

Thumbs up for SG Leaders meeting

August 29, 2008

We had a wonderful meeting last Wednesday with small group leaders that will be leading this Fall. We discussed the elements of a small group and the responsibilities a small group leader takes on when leading our Greenbrier Church families. I am excited to launch our groups on September 7th and 14th.

Each Greenbrier member and attendee will have the opportunity to meet the various leaders on those two Sundays and choose which group they would like to join. At Greenbrier, small groups are the primary way to find community and really connect with one another. We “do life together” in small groups!

If you would like to lead a small group @ Greenbrier, please contact Pastor Curtis.
