God is the Sustainer

November 5, 2008

“As long as the earth endures, seed-time and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night will never cease.” Genesis 8:22

God makes sure that what He created continues to operate.  He is the great Sustainer.  This is the great promise of continued blessing.  God is not about a short-term, one-time blessings. Those who follow Him can expect continual, abundant and ever-flowing blessing. There are no half empty or partially fulfilled promises from God.  He personally guarantees that what He began in your life will be completed!  (Philippians 1:6)

Prayer: Dear Lord, You are trustworthy! What you began yesterday, You will sustain today and provide for tomorrow.  Help me to build my trust in Your WORD and my confidence in Your character.  You are dependable and You have promised to sustain me in every circumstance. I will trust in You.  In Jesus name, Amen.

God Provides

November 4, 2008

“For from Him and through Him and to Him are all things.  To Him be the glory forever.” Romans 11:36

God is the Originator.  Before Him there was nothing.  In fact, every good and perfect gift continues to come from Him (James 1:17).  Since He is the beginning and the end, God knows your needs even before you have them and He already has the answers, too!  He was, He is and is to Come!

Even difficult circumstances can become moments of rejoicing and expectation when you choose to be dependent on God to provide.  Why not make a conscious effort today and give God the credit?  Thank Him for the many ways in which your needs are already being met.

Prayer: God, you are my Provider. I give you credit today for the provision I do have. Since you are the Originator and the continual Creator I can also trust You to meet my every need as I follow you.  In Jesus name, Amen.

God owns it all

November 3, 2008

“The silver is mine and the gold is mine, says the Lord Almighty.” Haggai 2:8

The way to live free from debt and the entanglement of our materialistic world is to yield ownership of what you have back to God.  After all, He already owns it and He has plans to prosper you with it!  When you instead allow God to shoulder the responsibility for your daily needs God will do for you what only He can do – He is the great provider.  Safe within His care you will be free to follow Jesus and His Word, putting into practice a lifestyle that reflects honoring God, enjoying His provision and having enough left over to be a blessing to others.

Prayer: Dear Lord, Today I yield back the ownership and responsibility of my life and my possessions to you.  Rather than attempting to be “in charge” over every complexity, I ask You to help me to learn to follow Your instructions and to trust in Your ways.  They are higher and better than mine (Isaiah 55:9). In Jesus name, Amen.

With God, there is more than enough

November 2, 2008

“The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it.” Psalms 24:1

Knowing that God owns it all brings great comfort.  He is firmly in control and commits to share His blessings with all who follow Him.  When you choose to live each day with God as your Source He promises to provide for your every need according to His riches in Christ Jesus (Phil. 4:13)

Prayer: Lord, today I recognize you as the Source and Solution for my life.  Help me to step away from the scarcity and stress that follow my own efforts and choose instead to be totally dependent on You to meet my needs.  You are a like well that never runs dry and I trust you to be my provider.  In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Living Free

November 1, 2008

Every day you and I are given the incredible privilege of making a Jesus “imprint” in the world around us.  Through a kind word, an act of mercy or a gesture of grace we share His love. But what if God’s desire for us was to be and do more. More?  [Read more]
