Women’s Ministry Involvement Interest Meeting – Next Saturday! Women of Greenbrier, join us this coming Saturday, January 14 from 10-11:30 a.m. in the fellowship hall to find your place to serve with other women in 2012. We have lots of ideas and are ready for your involvement, whether great or small! If you have questions, feel free to contact Melanie Bedogne (757-589-3157) or Marsha VanNorman (757-482-2701) for more information. There is a place for you to serve and use your gifts in 2012. We can’t wait to see you there!
Whether you are brand-new to Greenbrier or have been a part of the church for a long time, you are MORE than welcome and this is your opportunity to plug in, connect and share ideas you may have for the coming year.

Greenbrier Church Women’s Christmas Gathering
Saturday, December 17 from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Brew Ranch, 2133 Johnstown Road, Chesapeake, VA 23322
Ladies, take a break from the holiday busyness – Join us for a festive, casual (continental) breakfast, warm holiday beverages, and great fellowship! If you have not yet responded via evite, feel free to respond to this email to RSVP!
We’ll be exchanging “white elephant” gifts at our gathering this Saturday morning. Please bring a wrapped item you currently own and think another Greenbrier sister would enjoy. Think along the lines of a book you’ve enjoyed but no longer want to keep, a scarf you no longer wear, a decorative item…anything that would make a nice “recycled” present to share.
In addition, we’ll enjoy a yummy continental breakfast – please sign up (via email or evite) to bring one of the following “finger food” breakfast items to share:
- Pastry/Sweets
- Muffins/Bagels
- Fruit
- Croissant/Biscuit Sandwiches (egg, cheese, meat)
Coffee, Tea and Juice will also be provided.
We look forward to an encouraging time of fellowship and reflection with other sisters in Christ during the busy holiday season!

Let’s Help our women as they head for Nepal!

Dear Greenbrier Women,As most of you know, the Greenbrier Women’s Ministry is gearing up to launch our very own Women’s Mission team to Nepal in November. While in Nepal, they will have the opportunity to connect with Nepali women rescued from human trafficking. While they don’t want their focus to be on material things, they do find that meeting a specific need helps with building relationships. By providing hygiene products for hundreds of Nepali women you are helping to expand God’s Kingdom through practical means. We are asking you to help us help them! If you are able, please make an effort to fill a Zip lock bag with these travel/hotel sizes of:
shampoo, conditioner, soap, and/or lotions
It is not necessary to have all of the items, any amount will help. You might be surprised to see how many of these are just sitting in your bathroom closet going unused! These items will be collected on an ongoing basis until the team leaves in mid November. Feel free to bring them to our church office for collection.

“So Long Insecurity” – Wednesday Women’s Life Group

We all have insecurities. They piggyback on the vulnerability inherent in our humanity. The question is whether or not our insecurities are substantial to hurt, limit, or even distract us from profound effectiveness or fulfillment of purpose. Are they cheating us of the powerful and abundant life Jesus flagrantly promised? The enemy of your soul has a tremendous amount to gain if you don’t deal with your insecurities. Don’t let him have that kind of victory.
Starting Wednesday, 11/9, you are invited to join me as we seek healing from God for our insecurities and become the secure, confident women we were intended to be!

Greenbrier Ladies, have you marked your calendar for October 14-15 for our Fall Women’s Retreat at Triple R Ranch? The cost for this year’s retreat is $80. Registration can be done following the 9 & 11 am services at the information table in the lobby. We’re excited about the new developments in place for this year’s retreat – don’t miss it! Ladies Life Group – Thursday mornings

Our focus for the group is to equip women, mostly in their 20s and 30s, to walk in the freedom and destiny that God has for their lives. It will be a time of Bible Study, prayer, and deep connection. Life long friendships are formed HERE!! We will be studying the Book of Esther this fall in a verse by verse format.

Wednesday Life Group to start 9/14

Dear Greenbrier Ladies, beginning 9/14, you are invited to join us on Wednesday evenings from 7-8:20 to explore the life of Esther! Over the next six weeks, we will journey together into the study “Becoming a Woman God Can Use” (the story of Esther). We all know Esther as a Jewish orphan who went on to become the queen of Persia and used her position to save her people. This study helps you see how you can choose to become a woman God delights to use no matter your circumstances!

Monday Ladies Life group to start 9/12

Dear Ladies,
We are so looking forward to getting back to our Monday evenings with you all! We are especially excited about this new series by Beth Moore called “The Inheritance”. It will consist of nine sessions,all exploring the topic of our Inheritance throughout Gods Word.
Our first meeting will be Monday Sept 12th from 6:30-8pm-and will run through Monday Nov.7.
As in past series we’ve done,there will be a 30 minute dvd to watch followed by discussion and prayer. Unlike past series, there is no workbook, but each participant will be required to purchase a five dollar listening guide that will be available at our first meeting. So there is no homework! (but I am pretty sure Becky will come up with a thought provoking assignment for us to ponder for the following week:)
