inROUTE summer planning is beginning to take shape. Here are some of the events being planned:
Beginning June 4, The inROUTE Ladies Connection Small Group will be meeting at various homes for opportunities for swimming, play dates for the kiddos, and fellowship on Thursday afternoons between 12 and 2. Contact Kristi Ruckel at kristi.ruckel@gmail.com for details as to the meeting place of the week. Bring your own lunch and join the party!
On Saturday, June 13 there’s a BBQ being planned by Dana Carey and Dana VanValin. It will be held on the church campus. To help with the event or to get more information contact Dana VanValin at dvanvalin@gmail.com. Doesn’t that sound delicious?
On Thursday, June 18 the Annual Greenbrier “Young Guns” VS Greenbrier “Legends” softball game takes place at the Western Branch field at 8:45PM. Come to the pregame tailgate party at the church at 6:15 to get geared up for the event. Or just come and eat a hot dog. Bring a bag of chips or a side or dessert to share, your fav 2 liter carbonated beverage and a lawn chair. Afterwards, if you’re a night owl, come out to the park in WB for the game. It’s sure to be full of excitement!!
Intense competition continues on Saturday, July 18 in the church fellowship hall at 6:00PM. Bethann Zimmerman is planning a Game Night Extravaganza. Contact Bethann at bethiez2003@yahoo.com for more information or to help with the planning.

inROUTE Paint Your Heart Out

It’s time to begin gearing up for the Chesapeake 17th Annual Paint Your Heart Out event. The Greenbrier Church inROUTE crew has been involved in this outreach for the last several years. We meet together, go to a home that has been selected for a mini-makeover (paint and landscape style), and work together showing the love of Christ in our community. We’re hoping to have as many of the 20′s and 30′s crowd as we can. Please strongly consider coming out to join us. Here are the details of the event:
Our Paint Day is April 18th.
Meet at 9 AM at the church. Breakfast and Lunch will be provided, as well as a BBQ afterwards if you wish.
We are usually there till 1 or 2 PM.
Bring yourself, we will provide the rest.

Jason say’s “Real Men Go to HOCKEY Games” so join the Greenbrier Church inROUTE guys in going out for an Admirals Game at the Scope on Saturday, February 21. Tickets will be $13. We’ll meet at 6:00PM in the church parking lot to carpool because parking can be a hockey fight itself on Friday night in Norfolk. Sign up and pay your money to Brent VanNorman by Sunday, February 15. There will be a sign up table in the fellowship hall between services this week and next. Brent will purchase tickets for everyone who has paid him and responded by the 15th. If it is after the 15th, and you want to go, call Jason Bedogne (757-560-4040) and we can work something out. Hey inROUTE folks….A few events are coming your way if you are interested in having some fun.
First, there’s the monthly inROUTE Ladies Scrapbook, Crafting and Hangout Night at Marsha VanNorman’s house located at 833 Redleafe Circle, Chesapeake, VA. The fun will begin at 6:30PM for a salad bar and soup dinner. Bring along your supplies and a topping for a salad. Bring your swimsuit and towel, too, if you’d like to take advantage of the hot tub. Then, that very same weekend, on February 1 at 6:00pm, you can look forward to having a great time at the bash of all bashes-THE ANNUAL INROUTE SUPER BOWL BASH. Come to the Propel Room at the church to watch the Pittsburgh Steelers take on the Arizona Cardinals. Bring your friends, your kids, your husbands and your wives and prepare for a great time of football, pizza, and just hanging out and enjoying the game. We’ll have a couple of screens going and some space for those who aren’t so much into football to play games or to just hang out with some fun people. Finally, on February 20, the guys are getting together for some bonding time and heading to the ice rink for some H-O-C-K-E-Y. They will be watching the Admirals of Norfolk take on the Senators of Binghamton. It’s sure to be a crowd-pleaser!! Cost of the event will be around $10. not LOST Group Forming

Come and chill with the new group notLOST. The group will be based on watching the TV show LOST together and discussing it. There will also be time for prayer and Bible Study. It’s time to gear up for some new events and groups. Here’s a list of things to add to the calendar for January and into February.
Jason and Melanie Bedogne will be leading the College-Age Connection. They will meet the 2nd and 4th Sundays of the month beginning on January 11. The time will vary from week to week so be sure to watch for emails and updates from them. Contact Jason at 757.560.4040 or Melanie at 757.589.3157.
Jason Bedogne will be continuing his Men’s Connection group on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday’s of each month beginning January 14 at 7:30am at Friendly’s Restaurant by the Mall. They will be studying book summaries by various Christian authors and enjoying breakfast together. Call Jason for more info at 757.560.4040.
Melanie Bedogne will begin her Ladies’ Connection group every Thursday at 12:30pm in the church conference room on January 15. Child care will be available. Bring your lunch and share a great hour in fellowship, book study, teaching, and prayer. Call Melanie at 757.589.3157 for more information.
Marsha and Brent VanNorman will host the Young Married group the 1st and 3rd Sunday nights of the month. The group will begin meeting again on January 18 at 6:30pm. They will be studying the book “The 10 Commandments of Marriage” by Ed Young. For more information call Marsha at 757.482.2701.
On Friday January 30, at 6:30 pm inROUTE Ladies are invited to join together for an evening of crafting and fun at Marsha VanNorman’s home located at 833 Redleafe Circle in Chesapeake. Whether it is scrapbooking, knitting, or stamping or whatever you do, you will find encouraging conversation and fellowship. Or choose to come just to hang out. We’ll be putting together a menu of soup and salad to warm our bones on a cold January night. Bring your swimsuit and towel if you want to hop in the hot tub. We look forward to seeing you there. Finally, at the beginning of February, the Bash of Bashes, The Annual inROUTE Super Bowl Bash. We’ll begin the party at 6:00PM on February 1 in the church Fellowship Hall. More info on that will follow.

THE inROUTE CHRISTMAS PARTY
First of all, don’t forget about the inROUTE Christmas Party this Saturday night starting at 7PM. You can pick up a ticket for $2.50 per person from Bethann Zimmerman by emailing or calling her at bethiez2003@yahoo.com or 382-4289. The party is at the Clubhouse of the Preserve on the Elizabeth off Great Bridge Blvd. The address is 200 Preservation Reach, Chesapeake VA. Bring a wrapped (thing from your house that you don’t want anymore) White Elephant gift with you and your ticket.
WOMEN DINING IN CHRISTMAS CLOTHES @ OTHER PEOPLE”S HOUSES
The ladies of Greenbrier inROUTE will have a Progressive Christmas Dinner on Friday, December 12 beginning at 6:00. The driving around from house to house will begin at the church. We’re asking all ladies to bring a few canned goods to help stock the food pantry for those in need over the holidays. Then we’ll proceed to 3 homes for appetizers, dinner and dessert. ReRouted inROUTE Fire

Because of all the wet weather we’ve been having we are going to postpone our fire once again to the next night, Sunday, November 16. The new time is 6:00 PM. We will also be moving the event to the Van Norman’s house 833 Redleafe Circle in Chesapeake where we can still sit by the fire, eat a hot dog or 2 and hangout with some friends over some s’mores. However, we have more options of things to do. You an bring a swimsuit and towel for the hot tub or basketball shoes for a game of BB. You may decide to watch football (Skins and Boy’s @ 8:15) or hangout in the gameroom for a little ping-pong. We still are asking you to bring a drink, and a side dish to share. Bring a friend. Please fill other’s in on the new plan if you see them. Thanks guys!!!
The Van Norman’s Small Group WILL NOT be meeting that evening.

The inROUTE Christmas Party

Join us for an evening of holiday festive fun on Saturday December 6 at the Preserve on the Elizabeth Clubhouse located at 200 Preservation Reach in Chesapeake, Virginia. The event will begin at 7:00 PM. We will be exchanging the annual white elephant gifts, enjoying tasty heavy hor’dourves, and battling for amazing door prizes all while dressed in Christmas semi-formal wear. The cost of this event will be $2.50 per person or $5.00 per couple. Tickets can be purchased from Bethann Zimmerman at the Brew “Recreational” Fire on November 15 or after church beginning on November 16. Come share the evening with friends and feel free to bring others along. This is sure to be the memory making event of the season.
Sorry, no childcare will be provided. Please bring a wrapped white elephant gift and your purchased ticket with you. Please invite friends who might need a place at Christmastime to plug in with an awesome group of believers
