God’s Word Always Proves True

March 14, 2010

Truth:  Many claim to have the ‘answer’ for your troubles. But following their contrived plans, schemes, and rituals never bring about lasting peace and real solutions to the questions that fill your mind.  But God’s word is different. It is powerful and effective.

Scripture: “Son of man, the people of Israel are saying, ‘The vision that Ezekiel sees won’t happen for a long time. What he prophecies will happen in the distant future.’  “Tell them, ‘This is what the Almighty LORD says: Everything that I say will no longer be delayed. Whatever I say will happen, declares the Almighty LORD.’” (Ezekiel 12:27-28 GWT)

Prayer: Heavenly Father, today I choose to follow You.  Even when those around me are saying that Your words are not real and that You are not faithful, I will cling to You because I know that what You say always proves true.  Help me to believe and to stay faithful to Your word. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

God’s Vision is Pure and Eternal

March 13, 2010

Truth:   Knowing that God’s word never brings doubt, confusion or discouragement the best thing you can do is cling to God and His word.  Because He is truth and He can always be depended on to be good, holy and pure, what God says and what He puts in motion will always comes to pass.

Scripture:  “There will no longer be any false visions or flattering fortunetelling to the people. I, the LORD, will speak. Everything that I say will happen without any more delay. I will say something, and it will happen during your lifetime…” (Ezekiel 12:24-25 GWT)

Prayer:  Heavenly Father, Today I am choosing to give you the hopes and dreams that I have crafted for myself; plus the visions and plans others have placed over me.  I ask instead to be filled to overflowing with the revelation of who You are and the direction that You desire for me to walk. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Visions from Men do not Last

March 12, 2010

Truth: Every day we hear the newly trumpeted claims and promises of hope that come from the mouths and hearts of humankind.  Visions and dreams, even leadership direction that comes from the heart of a person may shine brightly for a moment, but in time, it will fade away.  Only visions and dreams that come from the heart of God will last.

Scripture: “Son of man, what is this proverb you have in the land of Israel: ‘The days go by and every vision comes to nothing’?” (Ezekiel 12:22)

Prayer:  Eternal Father, You are the only one who can see. Since You are the beginning and the end, I know Lord that Your vision is clear.  Help me today to cling to the truths of Your word and not the temporary voices that may “seem” right at the moment.  I will trust in You.  In Jesus’ name, Amen.

God Reveals

March 11, 2010

Truth:  When people live by their own standards, not Gods; and follow the craving of their own hearts the results are devastating.  In mercy God allows the consequences of evil to become evident in the hope that those who are lost will find their way in Him.

Scripture:  “Trouble after trouble will come.  One report will follow another. But they will not be true.  The people will try to get visions from the prophets. But there will not be any.  The teaching of the law by the priests will be gone. So will advice from the elders. The king will be filled with sadness. The princes will lose all hope. The hands of the people of the land will tremble.  I will punish them based on how they have lived.  I will judge them by their own standards. Then they will know that I am Lord.” (Ezekiel 7:26-27 NLT)

Prayer:  Eternally Wise God.  I ask for mercy today.  I will turn my thoughts back to You and will share the power of Your truth with others.  In mercy forgive us and restore to us the joy of our salvation. Redeem us back from the darkness that surrounds us.  In Jesus’ name, Amen.

God Rewards the Faithful but Punishes Evil

March 10, 2010

Truth:  God has established His world to operate on the principles and truths of His Word.  When people are faithful to His word there is an eternal reward that begins to work in their lives. At the same time, wrong doers are responsible for their attitudes and actions and bring God’s  judgment into their lives.

Scripture: “And if any merchants should survive, they will never return to their business.  For what God has said applies to everyone – it will not be changed! Not one person whose life is twisted by sin will recover.” (Ezekiel 7:13 NLT)

Prayer:  God you are Sovereign and the world is under Your control.  I ask You to help me live my life according to Your word and to experience the abundance that comes with obedience.  At the same time, grant me the boldness to explain the truth of Your Word and the evil consequences that will come to those who reject Your truth.  In Jesus’ name, Amen.  (Ezekiel 7:13NLT)

God Desires to Speak to those who will Listen

March 9, 2010

Truth:  Each day presents an opportunity to hear from numerous opinions and multiple voices.  God places the truth and blessing of His word into the lives of those who will listen and obey.  But when people stop following His commands God withdraws His blessing in hopes that they will return to Him.

Scripture:  “Jerusalem’s gates have fallen to the ground; He destroyed and smashed the bars of the gates. Her king and her princes are among the nations.  The teaching of the Lord has stopped, and the prophets do not have visions from the Lord.” (Lamentations 2:9 NCV)

Prayer:  Ever-truthful God. Today I come to You with ears ready to hear.  Help my heart to be filled with Your truth and to guide my mind to work and walk according to Your word.  I know that You protect and guide those who are walking in Your path and I choose to be known as one who will listen and obey.  In Jesus’ name, Amen.

God’s Word Brings Clarity

March 8, 2010

Truth:  Everything good gift that comes from God lines up with the standard, the truth of His word.  Since God can not lie and will not violate what He has decreed, His words are safe, trustworthy and always bring clarity.

Scripture:  “This is what the Lord All-Powerful says: ‘Don’t pay attention to what the prophets are saying to you. They fill you with false hopes.  They talk about visions that come from their own minds.  What they say does not come from My mouth.’” (Jeremiah 23:16 NCV)

Prayer:  Loving and Gracious Father, how grateful I am today that You always bring clarity and purpose to the confusion that swirls around me.  Help me today to base what I do and to evaluate what I hear on the never-changing truths of Your word.  They are more valuable than life itself.  In Jesus’ name, Amen.

God Always Reveals the Truth

March 7, 2010

Truth:  There are many voices in our culture shouting out attention getting falsehoods and manipulating the hearts of the broken.  Their lies lead to despair and destruction but God always reveals a hope that is based on His truth.

Scripture:  “Then the Lord said to me, “The prophets are prophesying lies in my name.  I have not sent them or appointed them.  I have not even spoken to them.  Everything they tell you about their visions or secret knowledge is a lie.  They pretend to bring you messages from other gods. They try to get you to believe their own mistaken ideas.” (Jeremiah 14:14 NCV)

Prayer:  Heavenly Father, You are the author of truth and in You there are no lies and there are no words that wound or manipulate.  Grant me discernment today, that I might be filled with the nourishment of Your word and grow in You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

God Uses Others to Reveal His Best for You

March 6, 2010

Truth:  God has a plan for your life that is revealed with the power of three persons:  Himself, another person and you.  Because He knows that directions can be lost, misinterpreted or forgotten He often expresses the roadmap for your journey in the context of relationships with others.

Scripture:  “This is the vision Isaiah, son of Amoz, saw about what would happen to Judah and Jerusalem.” (Isaiah 1:1 NCV)

Prayer:  Gracious and Merciful Heavenly Father. Thank you for promising to reveal Yourself and Your plans to me.  I now understand that the fullest expression of Your revelation comes through the relationships that I have with others who are following You.  Help me today to seek their wisdom and counsel and, together, find Your perfect peace.  In Jesus’ name, Amen.

God’s Word brings Blessings

March 5, 2010

Truth:  The word of God is powerful, filled with truth and revelation. It speaks accurately about yesterday, truthfully about today and perceptively about tomorrow. God’s promises blessings to those who listen, who obey and who walk out His revelation.

Scripture: “Without prophetic vision people run wild, but blessed are those who follow [God's] teachings.” (Proverbs 29:18) GWT

Prayer:  Heavenly Father, since You can see all things past, present and future, help me to turn my focus on You and to listen for Your insight and direction.  I believe that when I follow the power of Your word that Your eternal blessings will come my way.  Today I cling to the power of Your name. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
