Hmmmm…that’s Puzzling!
March 3, 2009
A new month and a new virtue for the PowerKids of Greenbrier Church! For the month of March…it’s all about HOPE and believing that something good can come out of something bad. We all know that things can seem pretty hopeless at times – for kids and parents alike! When things happen that we just aren’t expecting – and it can be something huge like losing a loved one to something relatively small like having a piece to a puzzle that doesn’t fit…these are the times that we need HOPE.
Last Sunday, we heard about a time when Paul really had to have HOPE and believe that whatever happened, God had a plan. We were taken through a really STORMY time with Paul…and boy, did it ever get stormy in that PowerKids Room…but Paul held on and had HOPE and some miraculous things happened because Paul continued to trust in God’s plan. Just ask your kids to tell you at least two things that happened! I bet they can!
Next Sunday promises to be just as miraculous as we’re taken back to the time of Lazarus to get a glimpse of how powerful God is. And when the kids can understand the power of God, they will know in their hearts that nothing is too hard for Him!
See you Sunday at 9:00!

Calling All Children’s Ministry Volunteers…
February 18, 2009
Finally!! I am so excited to invite all Sunday Children’s Ministry Volunteers to the Fellowship Hall on Saturday, February 28th at 11:00 a.m. for a short meeting, followed by a time of food and fellowship!
Now that we have had a chance to experience the new services and times, I’d like to meet and discuss our ministry to the children at Greenbrier Church…what fun things we’ve experienced the past two months, what challenges we may have faced and how we can make it even more fabulous in the future! After the discussion, we’re planning a lunch of Soup and Salad and would love to have everyone stay and fellowship with each other! Please send me an email and let me know you can come! If you have a special soup or salad that you make, please let me know because I would love to include it on the menu! We have some fabulous cooks in our church, for sure!
I look forward to seeing you on the 28th! There will also be an opportunity to stay after the lunch and be part of a “Room Refresher Team” that will be making sure each of the Children’s Rooms are in top notch shape! This is also the day that we turn around the Power Kid’s Room for a brand new month of fun; so, extra hands there would be welcome, as well!
Thank you for all you do to bless and serve our fabulous kids at Greenbrier Church!

Calling all PowerKids…STEP RIGHT UP!!!
January 31, 2009
We had so much fun last month learning about RESOURCEFULNESS! Who knew how resourceful people were in the Bible times! People like Moses and Hezekiah, just to name a few…and the kids were amazingly resourceful themselves last week as they used newspaper, masking tape and file folders to make Moses costumes! The results were incredible!
Can you believe that this Sunday is the first day of February? With a new month comes a new virtue and we are so excited to unveil the surprise this Sunday morning! So, Mom’s and Dad’s, make sure your PowerKid is ready for FAIRly fabulous fun this week at Kid’s Church! We hear there’s a king who’s supposed to make an appearance in the court…hmmmm….see you there!!
PowerKids learning about RESOURCEFULNESS!
January 21, 2009
After trying to dig dirt, pound golf tees and shovel sugar cubes with only a spoon as their tool…our PowerKids learned last week that God wants us to do our best, with whatever we are given, and then trust Him to do His part! We heard about the story of King Hezekiah who was facing a battle with a very tough and scary Assyrian king! [Read more]
