Here is the Music Player. You need to installl flash player to show this cool thing!
Hey Everyone,
I wanted to share a new song we will be doing over the next few weeks. I realize how difficult it can be to jump right into worship when you are trying to learn the “new song”! I hope posting this song will help a little bit.
I love the message behind this song. The chorus say’s, “There has never been a greater love than your son, no not one. And there will never be a name above, no not one. And with His life you have forgiven us, hope has come. And there will never be a greater love, no not one!” Let’s prepare our hearts to celebrate a God that is second to none. We serve a great King!
Warmly,
Matt Ruckel

Greeting Parents,
In this month’s issue of “The Parent Source” you will get a great look at how teenagers are interacting with music. Technology has changed drastically over the past few years making music more easily attainable. Check out the facts in the first article.
After a 14 year decline the Centers for Disease Control reports that the teenage birth rate increased by 3 percent according to their latest data which was from 2006. MTV just put out a new show called “Teen Mom” that addresses the responsibility of teen pregnancy.
What started out as a new hip hop dance move has radically evolved into its own culture, boasting its own music and style of dress. Do you know what this new dance craze is? Check it out on page 2!
The number one media concern for parents has shifted from Television to the Internet, with 85% of parents saying that it posed the greatest risk to their children among all forms of media. How can the families of Greenbrier Church protect their kids from the negative influences on the internet? Check out the four ways to combat expose on page 3.
Did you know what 64% of high schoolers admitted to cheating on an exam last year!!! You won’t want to miss the article on “Lying and cheating” on page 4!

New “The Parent Source” Monthly Newsletter
August 25, 2009
Hey Parents,
Have you ever felt detached from your teen and their culture? Are you having a hard time keep up with all the new bands and music artists? Do you want to stay informed with the new challenges kids are facing? ME TOO!!!
I am really excited to announce a new tool for parents we are using at Greenbrier Church. The Parent Source is a monthly newsletter that gives you tons of great info about teen culture. From rising trends like “sexting” that are wreaking havoc on our kids lives, to the great and not so great new music artists that are climbing the charts. It is a great tool to help steer your kids in the right direction inside a world that would like to tear them down.
I hope this newsletter will be a tool that can help navigate you and your family towards Christ!
Blessings,
Matt
