Propel Parents Update
November 8, 2010
Dear Propel parents,
We just rounded out a busy, yet incredible few months. From leadership & youth retreats, a homeless outreach, our launch of a student volunteer leadership team, and our recent Harvest-Fest. These things have helped create an environment where our Propel community has grown spiritually and relationally and we are so excited to see what the Lord has for us in the next season. So thank you for your prayer and support, and we ask that you continue to be plugged in through prayer; as we continue on this journey of shaping and discipling our youth together.
On Wednesday we begin a series entitled “The Invisibles.” This series speaks to the fact that there are people in all of our “worlds” that go unnoticed and how even though they are overlooked by people; Jesus sees those who are “invisible” and deeply cares for them. Addressing this will help lead our students into a better understanding of how God has seen them, as He made Himself available to us through salvation. We will be unpacking the truth of Jesus’ love and how His love can shape and motivate how we see the disenfranchised people in our worlds.
Finally we will provide our students with practical Biblical truths on how they can reach out to the “invisibles” in their lives. Placing emphasis on how there’s a deeper, spiritual need that the ignored of our world have and that this need can only be met through Jesus Christ. For, if we begin seeing and loving the “invisibles” the way Jesus did; this will ultimately help lead the neglected to Jesus.
Please pray specifically that the truth of this series begins to resonate in the souls of our youth, and that as a community we begin to be more sensitive to the “invisibles.” Taking hold of the truth Jesus spoke of in Matthew 26:34-36. We encourage you to challenge your child to be more aware of their surroundings as well as having open conversations on how they can practically reach out to the “least of these.”
As always please let us know how we can serve you and your child. It is a great privilege to serve your family. May we all encourage one another to serve the “least of these” in our spheres of influence.

New Propel Sermon Series “Wanted”
October 13, 2010
Greetings Propel Parents!
On Wednesday October 13 we are pumped to begin a three-week series entitled “WANTED.” This series will guide our youth into a better understanding of how to navigate through life with the desires they have. Every day, each one of us is driven by our desires, and the decisions we make are filtered through the motivation that stems from those desires. Sadly, people (especially youth) often come to church and feel guilty about the desires they have. Therefore, we find it vital to identify and teach what the Bible says regarding those desires; so our students can walk away encouraged and with a refreshed outlook on faith. What if desire was actually the beginning of a much better life in Christ?
Please join our efforts and be a part of the Propel “team” by praying that our students take to heart Jesus’ invitation in John 7:37-39, to come and be satisfied. Our student led small groups following the message serves as a great time of fellowship; so please be in prayer that we continue to “spiritually feed” one another with truth, love, and understanding.
John 7:37-39 “On the last and greatest day of the Feast, Jesus stood and said in a loud voice, ‘If anyone is thirsty, let him come to me and drink. Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, streams of living water will flow from within him.’ By this he meant the Spirit, whom those who believed in him were later to receive. Up to that time the Spirit had not been given, since Jesus had not yet been glorified.

*Parent Update* New Sermon Series: Doubt; RRR Retreat Money Due!
September 27, 2010
Greetings Propel Parents!
We are so excited about how well our Wednesday night Propel meeting has been going! The student led worship team is doing a great job of leading us into God’s presence, Joe has been preaching the WORD with power, and the student led small groups are helping us all go deeper into God’s word. We have also been starting right at 7pm!! Yes, miracles can happen
This week we will begin a two-week series that deals directly with the issue of “DOUBT.” We will be talking about how to navigate through the tough questions that seem to linger in the back of our minds. The questions we hesitate to speak out loud, or admit we have. Questions like: “Does God hear me when I pray?” “Does He have a plan for my life?” “Does God really have everything under control?”
Often times we can begin to think we are alone in our doubt, and doubt can begin to cripple our faith. We want to teach our kids how to confront doubt and process their faith together through the word. We will learn how to leverage our doubt to strengthen our faith instead of paralyze it. Propel students will be encouraged as they learn that doubt paves the way to a deeper relationship with Jesus, because He is big enough to handle their questions, and secure enough to handle their uncertainty.
We would love for you to be apart of our “team” by praying for our Propel students over the next two weeks. Could please be praying that a spirit of faith would fill our small group time as our students confront doubt and pursue Gods truth? We greatly appreciate your prayer support as we encourage our students to make their faith their own!

Homeless Outreach THIS SATURDAY, Rhythm Teaching Series, Triple R Retreat
September 16, 2010
Dear Propel Parents,
We have started off the new school year on a great note, as the last three weeks we have been discussing that we were created to exist in “Rhythm” with God and ourselves. This upcoming week is our last week in the “Rhythm” series, and we will be unpacking the truth that no person can exist in rhythm with God or themselves unless he or she is at peace with other people. Following Jesus means being passionate about what He is passionate about–and Jesus is passionate about people. So if we want to be in rhythm, we not only have to be in sync with God and ourselves, we also have to be in sync with others.
Important Dates:
- THIS SATURDAY
- Homeless outreach: September 18 – we will meet at the church at 2:00 to prepare meals that we will be taking down to Portsmouth to distribute to a group of homeless people. Propel youth will need picked up at 8:00
