God Gives Glimpses of Heaven
March 19, 2010
Truth: When God speaks it is always about His Kingdom, His will and humankind’s response to it. Even when angelic messengers of God communicate they speak of God’s glory and reveal His plan. The glimpses of heaven given to You from God will always point you back to Him.
Scripture: “Then I heard one angel ask another, “How long will these things that were seen in the vision continue?” (Daniel 8:13 GNT)
Prayer: Heavenly Father, I come to You today in prayer knowing that You are the beginning and the end, and that nothing escapes Your notice or takes You by surprise. I want to thank You that Your revealed word and the messengers You send my way always point me to back to You and Your purposes. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
God wants to speak to You today
March 18, 2010
Truth: God is the best communicator in the world. His words are clear, true, honest and never change. He is dependable and gentle, but also full of justice and mercy. But the best news is that God wants to speak to you again. Today.
Scripture: “During the third year of King Belshazzar’s rule, I, Daniel, saw another vision, which was like the first one.” (Daniel 8:1-2)
Prayer: Gracious and Merciful Father, I am so grateful that You want to communicate with me and demonstrate to me Your endless love. Today I will focus my day so that my best time is reserved for You. Teach me to slow down enough so that I can listen to You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
God Grants Wisdom, Understanding and Vision
March 16, 2010
Truth: God alone is the Creator and has the power to grant you the wisdom that you need today. Struggling to gain understanding or seeking clear vision about the future? God is the generator of all things good and will provide for you just what you need.
Scripture: “God gave these four men knowledge, wisdom, and the ability to understand all kinds of literature. Daniel could also understand all kinds of visions and dreams.” (Daniel 1:17 GWT)
Prayer: Gracious Eternal Father, You are the great giver of life, the creator of the universe and the dispenser of wisdom. I turn to you today confident of Your love and affection toward me. I humbly ask You for wisdom, for understanding and for clarity for the days ahead. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
God’s Word Prevails
March 15, 2010
Truth: God has an amazing way of clearing the path for truth. The false promises of a quick fix or voices that declare secrets of success do not last. The hope for your future is not a new plan, a new path, or ‘revealed’ steps. The truth that you need has already been written as time-tested truth in God’s word.
Scripture: “The prophets of Israel who prophesy to Jerusalem and who see visions of peace for the city, when there is no peace, will be gone, says the Lord God.” (Ezekiel 13:16 NCV)
Prayer: Heavenly Father, Thank You for the power of Your word. It was true. It is true and it will always be true. Forever. Help me to adjust my life to the powerful truth of Your word and to allow it to guide and shape my heart toward You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
God’s Word Always Proves True
March 14, 2010
Truth: Many claim to have the ‘answer’ for your troubles. But following their contrived plans, schemes, and rituals never bring about lasting peace and real solutions to the questions that fill your mind. But God’s word is different. It is powerful and effective.
Scripture: “Son of man, the people of Israel are saying, ‘The vision that Ezekiel sees won’t happen for a long time. What he prophecies will happen in the distant future.’ “Tell them, ‘This is what the Almighty LORD says: Everything that I say will no longer be delayed. Whatever I say will happen, declares the Almighty LORD.’” (Ezekiel 12:27-28 GWT)
Prayer: Heavenly Father, today I choose to follow You. Even when those around me are saying that Your words are not real and that You are not faithful, I will cling to You because I know that what You say always proves true. Help me to believe and to stay faithful to Your word. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
God’s Vision is Pure and Eternal
March 13, 2010
Truth: Knowing that God’s word never brings doubt, confusion or discouragement the best thing you can do is cling to God and His word. Because He is truth and He can always be depended on to be good, holy and pure, what God says and what He puts in motion will always comes to pass.
Scripture: “There will no longer be any false visions or flattering fortunetelling to the people. I, the LORD, will speak. Everything that I say will happen without any more delay. I will say something, and it will happen during your lifetime…” (Ezekiel 12:24-25 GWT)
Prayer: Heavenly Father, Today I am choosing to give you the hopes and dreams that I have crafted for myself; plus the visions and plans others have placed over me. I ask instead to be filled to overflowing with the revelation of who You are and the direction that You desire for me to walk. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Visions from Men do not Last
March 12, 2010
Truth: Every day we hear the newly trumpeted claims and promises of hope that come from the mouths and hearts of humankind. Visions and dreams, even leadership direction that comes from the heart of a person may shine brightly for a moment, but in time, it will fade away. Only visions and dreams that come from the heart of God will last.
Scripture: “Son of man, what is this proverb you have in the land of Israel: ‘The days go by and every vision comes to nothing’?” (Ezekiel 12:22)
Prayer: Eternal Father, You are the only one who can see. Since You are the beginning and the end, I know Lord that Your vision is clear. Help me today to cling to the truths of Your word and not the temporary voices that may “seem” right at the moment. I will trust in You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
God Reveals
March 11, 2010
Truth: When people live by their own standards, not Gods; and follow the craving of their own hearts the results are devastating. In mercy God allows the consequences of evil to become evident in the hope that those who are lost will find their way in Him.
Scripture: “Trouble after trouble will come. One report will follow another. But they will not be true. The people will try to get visions from the prophets. But there will not be any. The teaching of the law by the priests will be gone. So will advice from the elders. The king will be filled with sadness. The princes will lose all hope. The hands of the people of the land will tremble. I will punish them based on how they have lived. I will judge them by their own standards. Then they will know that I am Lord.” (Ezekiel 7:26-27 NLT)
Prayer: Eternally Wise God. I ask for mercy today. I will turn my thoughts back to You and will share the power of Your truth with others. In mercy forgive us and restore to us the joy of our salvation. Redeem us back from the darkness that surrounds us. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
God Rewards the Faithful but Punishes Evil
March 10, 2010
Truth: God has established His world to operate on the principles and truths of His Word. When people are faithful to His word there is an eternal reward that begins to work in their lives. At the same time, wrong doers are responsible for their attitudes and actions and bring God’s judgment into their lives.
Scripture: “And if any merchants should survive, they will never return to their business. For what God has said applies to everyone – it will not be changed! Not one person whose life is twisted by sin will recover.” (Ezekiel 7:13 NLT)
Prayer: God you are Sovereign and the world is under Your control. I ask You to help me live my life according to Your word and to experience the abundance that comes with obedience. At the same time, grant me the boldness to explain the truth of Your Word and the evil consequences that will come to those who reject Your truth. In Jesus’ name, Amen. (Ezekiel 7:13NLT)
God Desires to Speak to those who will Listen
March 9, 2010
Truth: Each day presents an opportunity to hear from numerous opinions and multiple voices. God places the truth and blessing of His word into the lives of those who will listen and obey. But when people stop following His commands God withdraws His blessing in hopes that they will return to Him.
Scripture: “Jerusalem’s gates have fallen to the ground; He destroyed and smashed the bars of the gates. Her king and her princes are among the nations. The teaching of the Lord has stopped, and the prophets do not have visions from the Lord.” (Lamentations 2:9 NCV)
Prayer: Ever-truthful God. Today I come to You with ears ready to hear. Help my heart to be filled with Your truth and to guide my mind to work and walk according to Your word. I know that You protect and guide those who are walking in Your path and I choose to be known as one who will listen and obey. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
