God Wants You to Live to Please Him

Truth: God created you to find the most meaning in life when you focus your priorities and ambition on more than yourself.  When you live according to His perfect choice ~ living for Him ~ God pours out the abundant blessing of His presence in every area of your life.

Scripture:  “Finally, brothers, we instructed you how to live in order to please God, as in fact you are living.  Now we ask you and urge you in the Lord Jesus to do this more and more.” 1 Thessalonians 4:1

Prayer:  Gracious Father, help me to focus today making any adjustments necessary so that the ambition of my life, the driving purpose is given toward pleasing you. You alone are worthy of my praise, my life and my devotion. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Pray for Bosnia-Herzegovina, a nation torn by war and ethnic strive desperately needs the power of Christ’s forgiveness to wipe a long-history of pain and bitterness. Pray for the word of salvation and forgiveness to be made strong.

God Strengthens You to Be Prepared for His Return

Truth: God has already planned out the end of time.  He will stand in judgment over the living and the dead, restoring all things to their rightful place.  When you yield your heart to His love and the forgiveness of His Son, Jesus, God will strengthen you to be prepared for His return.

Scripture: “May he strengthen your hearts so that you will be blameless and holy in the presence of our God and Father when our Lord Jesus comes with all his holy ones.” 1 Thessalonians 3:13

Prayer: Gracious Father, Thank You for the promise of Your Son.  He is my eternal Savior and the One who has and who will redeem me from the brokenness of this world and the sin in my own heart.  Grant me strength to wait for You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Pray for the French speaking African nation of Cameroon.  Ask the Lord of the harvest to send kingdom-minded businessmen, community development workers and educators to bring the Gospel and stability to Cameroon.

God Grants His Love to Overflow in You

Truth:  God has the power to increase the overflow of love in your life so that it not only fills you up, but goes further to provide an abundant measure of grace to others.  When you connect with others in His kingdom, God grants you the pleasure of extending His love from you to others.

Scripture: “May the Lord make your love increase and overflow for each other and for everyone else, just as ours does for you.” 1 Thessalonians 3:12

Prayer:  Merciful Father, I thank You today for the privilege of honoring Your name in my family, among my friends and colleagues. Help me to be filled to overflowing with Your love so that I may have enough left over to abundantly bless those around me.  In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Pray that the small Central African nation of Burundi will experience last peace.  Burundi has been a war-torn land for many years but has recently enjoyed an absence of war and tribal conflict.  Pray for the Prince of Peace to make Himself known.

God Wants His Family to be United

Truth: God’s plan to showcase His mercy and love in the world begins and ends with the local church — the group of people that form a spiritual family.  When you choose to belong to and to bring unity in to His church, God pours works in you and through others to bring His transforming power into your life.

Scripture: “Now may our God and Father himself and our Lord Jesus clear the way for us to come to you.” 1 Thessalonians 3:11

Prayer: Heavenly Father, I pray today for the opportunity to belong to a spiritual family that will help me grow in my faith.  Help me to honor the pattern You have established and commit to grow and strengthen your church in unity. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

God’s Family Prays for One Another

Truth: God has placed His Spirit in each and every believer to guide our thoughts and actions, to enable us to worship Him, and to be able to relate to and pray for one another.  When you begin to seek unity in His family sharing you love, caring for and blessing other believers, God promises to pour out His blessings in your life.

Scripture: “Night and day we pray most earnestly that we may see you again and supply what is lacking in your faith.”  1 Thessalonians 3:10

Prayer:  Heavenly Father, Thank You for rescuing me from a life of loneliness and despair and placing me inside of Your family.  Help me to seek peace within Your spiritual family and to cherish those you have placed in my life.

Pray for the Eastern European nation of Bulgaria.  In recent years there has been a move of God’s presence in evangelical churches and also an openness of people from diverse backgrounds. Ask the Lord of the harvest to pour out His grace and blessing on the nation of Bulgaria.

God’s Family Encourages One Another in the Faith

Truth: God has created a spiritual family that provides hope, encouragement and protection from the onslaught of evil. When you commit to Christ He includes you in His church and provides you with a safe place to grow strong, to enjoy His abundance and to face the trials of life.

Scripture: “For this reason, when I could stand it no longer, I sent to find out about your faith. I was afraid that in some way the tempter might have tempted you and our efforts might have been useless.”  1 Thessalonians 3:5

Prayer: Gracious Father, Thank You for placing me in Your family. I know that the safest place I can be today is not only in Your presence, but also in the midst of Your people. Help me to honor You and Your church. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Pray for the Southeast Asian nation of Brunei. This Muslim nation has ostracized and persecuted believers who have shared their faith with others.  Ask the Lord to protect His church and to open the eyes of many to the truth.

God’s Family is Designed to Care for One Another

Prayer: Gracious Father, Thank Your for designing Your spiritual family to care for one another. I asked that You would place me in a spiritual family where I can be a blessing to others, and where I can receive strength and courage from those around me. In Jesus’ name, Amen

God Connects His Family Together

Truth:  God designed you to belong to His family. From the moment you received His Son, Jesus, as your Savior, God has been at work connecting you with other believers.  When you allow yourself to be connected with others God will pour out His blessing and favor in your life!

Scripture: “For what is our hope, our joy, or the crown in which we will glory in the presence of our Lord Jesus when He comes?  Is it not you?  Indeed, you are our glory and joy.”  1 Thessalonians 2:19-20

Prayer:  Heavenly Father, I know that You created me to belong to a spiritual family.  Help me today to not draw away from others that follow you, but instead teach me to become a true friend, honoring and blessing those You have put in my life. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Pray for the Buddhist Kingdom of Bhutan to be freed from demonic oppression and the crippling false religion of Tibetan Buddhism.  Pray also for the small but growing church and for all of Bhutan’s people to be given freedom to worship Jesus Christ.

God Rewards the Righteous

Truth: God has good things in store for those who love Him, who believe in and receive His son as their personal Savior.  When you choose to follow God’s ways, the power of His word and its wisdom will bring reward and benefit to your life.

Scripture: “And we also thank God continually because, when you received the word of God, which you heard from us, you accepted it not as the word of men, but as it actually is, the word of God, which is at work in you who believe.” 1 Thessalonians 2:13

Prayer:  Heavenly Father, Thank Your for blessing your children.  I know that when I choose to follow the plans that You have made for humankind, when I receive Your Son as my Savior and follow the truth of Your word – Your blessings will overflow from my life to others. Help me to live and walk out this abundant life.  In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Pray for the people in the British Indian Ocean Territory.  Isolated by water, pray that believers would be united in faith and that revival would come to the entire nation.

God Opposes Evil

Truth: God is righteous, holy, pure and always good. He opposes evil and committed by His word to judge those who have chosen to live in opposition to His blessings.  Their sinful acts are adding up every day as evidence that will be used against them on Judgment Day.  But, when you choose God and His ways, He will reward you with blessing and new life in Christ.

Scripture:  “…in this way the always heap up their sins to the limit.  The wrath of God has come upon them at last.”  1 Thessalonians 2:15-16

Pray:  Merciful Father, I know that You have already laid out before all humankind the way to find hope and peace in You. I know that You will judge evil, but reward those who come to you in faith.  Help me today to be a witness of your Good News to those trapped in a lifestyle of selfish ambition, dysfunctional pain and other kinds of evil. Help me to share freedom in You.  In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Pray for the South Pacific island nation of Bougainville.  Most of it’s 175,000+ residents have a knowledge of God but have yet to experience a personal relationship with Him.
