Joining the Mission of God

March 22, 2011

Truth: The invitation to “come and follow me” (Matthew 4:19) is extended from God to me each and every day. My “yes” to His call positions me to be with Him and also provides me with Kingdom Power to be a part of His miraculous work.

Scripture: “Jesus went through Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the good news of the Kingdom, and healing every disease and sickness among the people.” (Matt 4:23)

Prayer: Today, Lord, I say “YES” to You. I will go with You today and join Your mission on the earth.  Help me to confidently proclaim the good news of the Kingdom and watch You deliver others from evil. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Driving Out Demons

March 21, 2011

Truth: Jesus’ spiritual authority offers much more than a ‘boost’ to help me in my struggle against sin. He has the power to drive out the demons of hell, to overcome the grip of emotional wounds and to break the bondage of addictions.  When I choose to follow Jesus and live in His Kingdom Power He creates in me a life that is filled with His presence and peace.

Scripture: “But if I drive out demons by the finger of God, then the Kingdom of God has come to you.” (Luke 11:20)

Prayer: O Great Rescuer, find me today and deliver me from the insanity of thinking that I can fix myself, or that by adding a few pearls of wisdom I can change my own behavior and destiny. You alone have the power over death and evil.  May Your Kingdom come – now – and rescue me into your permanent peace and wholeness.  In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Let the Dead Bury the Dead

March 20, 2011

Truth: A pre-occupation with short-term material rewards is one of the biggest obstacles that keeps you from living and walking in richness of the Kingdom of God. You can overcome this temptation by speaking the words of life from the Scripture to everyone who crosses your path.

Scripture: “Jesus said, ‘Let the dead bury the dead, but you go and proclaim the Kingdom of God.’” (Luke 9:60)

Prayer: Eternal Leader, forgive me for turning my attention to the lifeless desires and appetites of the world. Help me today to change my behavior by proclaiming Your Kingdom with my words and speaking about the richness of Your Word to others.  In Jesus’ name, Amen.

It’s Not Just for You

March 19, 2011

Truth: Jesus, the One in charge of the Kingdom of Heaven, is on the move.  He is always looking for those whose lives have been broken, shattered and wounded.  The best way to “stay” in that sacred place of worship and healing with Jesus is to join Him on His continued mission.

Scripture: “He said, ‘I must preach the good news of the Kingdom of God to other towns also, because that is why I was sent.’” (Luke 4:43)

Prayer: Righteous and Holy Father, Help me today to follow You.  I know that You spent Your life serving others and I commit to follow in Your path. Help me to get past focusing on my own needs and recognize that You want to bless others through me.  In Jesus’ name, Amen.

An Inheritance Too Big To Spend

March 18, 2011

Truth: Jesus, the King of Heaven measures productivity. In the Gospels He tells numerous parables about workers being rewarded for their faithfulness and resourcefulness – and others being punished for their laziness.  Every follower of Jesus receives both a present tense and future reward for speaking the words of the Kingdom and bringing life to all who hear.

Scripture: “Then the King will say to those on His right, ‘Come you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the Kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world.’” (Matthew 25:34)

Prayer: Heavenly Father, I come humbly to You today, acknowledging my own shortcomings and ask for You to grant me the strength and courage to speak Your words of life to others and to do Your will. I know that you have prepared an inheritance for those who follow You.  Help me to follow You and You alone. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

It’s Not Over ’til it’s Over

March 17, 2011

Truth: God has put you in the middle of His masterful plan for every ethnic group in the world – from the farthest flung tribal group to the urban masses next door – to hear the Good News before Jesus returns and establishes a new heaven and a new earth.

Scripture: “And this gospel of the Kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations [ethnic groups], and then the end will come.” (Matthew 24:14)

Prayer: God, You are an incredible Redeemer.   I am amazed that You have chosen me to be a part of your master plan to declare your glory among all the ethnic groups of the world.  Help me to see today that my words count for eternity and that You want me to invest in others who will join me in extending Your Kingdom. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

The Keys to Heaven

March 16, 2011

Truth: The King of Heaven has granted every follower the keys to His Kingdom.  When you decide to follow Jesus the King, spiritual keys to His Kingdom are activated by the words you speak and the life you live.  Remember, God promises to watch over His word to make sure it’s completed (Jeremiah 1:12) so choose your words carefully.  Align yourself with God’s heart and watch the richness of His presence begin to shape your world.

Scripture: “I will give you the keys of the Kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.” (Matthew 16:19)

Prayer: Eternally Good and Heavenly Father, Your kindness toward me is overwhelming.  I will speak Your words of life today, knowing that they have the power to bind and loose – to protect and to free – my own life and those who hear Your word.  In Jesus’ name, Amen.
