God Give Grace to the Humble

February 28, 2011

Truth:  God takes sides.  He is opposed to those who think too much of themselves and comes to the aid and rescue of those who are filled with humility.  If you want to be on His side today come humbly to Him, recognizing that He is the source of all things good in your life and that His love is what has made the pathway to forgiveness possible.

Scripture: “God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.” James 4:6

Prayer:  Heavenly Father, Today I am in need of Your grace.  In so many ways I find myself inadequate or falling short of expectations.  To make matters worse my own attempts at self-improvement often don’t generate much change.  I need You and the power of Your grace to minister to my brokenness and to heal me.  In Jesus’ name, Amen.
