God will Make You Strong

October 31, 2010

Truth:  God is in the restoration business. There is nothing more precious to Him then to take a lost broken soul and restore him/her to their original purpose and destiny.  When you choose God strength will come to you at just the right time and His healing power will transform Your being.

Scripture:  “And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast.“ 1 Peter 5:10

Prayer:  Eternal Father, Thank You for choosing me and for extending Your love and mercy to me.  Today I receive Your grace and the strength I need to be steadfast in You.  In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Resist Evil and Stand Firm in Your Faith

October 30, 2010

Truth:  You and I live in a spiritually charged world where good and evil are vying for the attention of every human heart.  Make no mistake good is good and evil is evil. God’s goodness restores and heals, while the evil of Satan’s work will destroy and devour.  Choose God and His goodness today!

Scripture:  “ Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that your brothers throughout the world are undergoing the same kind of suffering.” 1 Peter 4:8-9

Prayer:  Dear Heavenly Father, I choose today to stand with You and ask that You would protect me from the vicious attacks of my enemy, the Devil.  I see his work of discouragement and confusion all around me and I need Your strength to resist him and to receive Your healing touch.  In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Leaders Care for God’s People

October 29, 2010

Truth:  God’s favorite leaders are those who lay down their lives for the benefit of others.  This is in direct contrast to the self-promoting patterns of leadership demonstrated by the world system.  You can find favor with God and man today by choosing His ways and serving others in a way that truly benefits them.

Scripture: “Be shepherds of God’s flock that is under your care, serving as overseers – not because you must, but because you are willing, as God wants you to be; not greedy for money; not lording it over those entrusted to you, but being examples to the flock.” 1 Peter 5:2,3

Prayer:  Heavenly Father, Today I want to take a few moments and pray for those You have placed in spiritual authority in my life.  Help me to honor them with my words and my support, encouraging their sacrificial life. I ask that You would bless them with eternal blessings and let them sense Your closeness today. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Be Faithful and Do Good

October 28, 2010

Truth:  When the hardships of life begin to dampen your joy God wants you to know that He responds to faithfulness and commitment.  He has rooted Your new life in Him, not on the circumstances of the day, but on the eternal covenant He has established with you in Christ.  Rejoice in Him.

Scripture: “So then, those who suffer according to God’s will should commit themselves to their faithful Creator and do good.” 1 Peter 4:19

Prayer:  Heavenly Father, Today I hand to You all of my cares, worries, concerns, troubles, heartaches, pains and trials.  You have promised to care for me and to shower me with Your love.  Help me today to look to You and to be faithful to You and the power of Your word.  In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Rejoice in Suffering

October 27, 2010

Truth:  God’s design for your life does not remove you from difficult times, but it does include His presence in the midst of the trials and sufferings that come your way.  You can take great comfort in knowing that He is with you in every situation and that during each hardship He will draw even closer to you.

Scripture: “But rejoice that you participate in the sufferings of Christ, so that you may be overjoyed when His glory is revealed.” 1 Peter 4:13

Prayer:  Heavenly Father, there are times that my life is filled with struggle and difficulty.  Thank You for being with me in these moments, for drawing closer to me and to showing Your love to me in these times of weakness and pain. Help me to look to You in times of darkness so that I can rejoice even more on the day when we are united.  In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Use Your Gifts to Serve Others

October 26, 2010

Truth: God has created you in something very special. You are uniquely crafted like no one else.  You have been given eternal gifts, blessings from heaven that He wants you to share with others.  You are His hands extended into a hurting world.

Scripture:  “Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God’s grace in various forms.” 1 Peter 4:10

Prayer:  Heavenly Father, Your love for me continues to amaze.  You never qualify or limit Your goodness, but extend it freely to me. Help me today to see my role as an instrument of Your peace and mercy.  Grant me the discernment to be able to use the gifts You have given me so that others will receive Your goodness. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Be Hospitable

October 25, 2010

Truth:  God in Heaven is preparing an eternal banquet for those who willingly accept His invitation to come and dwell with Him.  He extends His love, not just to those whose lives seem “together”, to every person who will receive His love.  He asks that you extend this same spirit of hospitality to those around you!

Scripture:  “ Offer hospitality to one another without grumbling.” 1 Peter 4:9

Prayer:  Loving Father, How grateful I am today, that You have seen fit to love me, even when I am undeserving.  Help me to see the people that cross my path as precious in Your sight and to extend to them the same kindness and generosity that I have received from You.  In Jesus’ name, Amen.
