Building Heavenly Treasure Transforms our Heart

Truth: The passions of your heart describe where your treasure is located. For instance, if you focus on self-benefiting treasure seeking, then your “investments” will be short-term and fleeting. You will also have added stress of managing the limited supply that you can create with your own strength. Sure they may last through your own life time, but when eternity comes there may be little in your heavenly account.
There is a better way. When you begin generously giving without expecting a return, an eternal account is opened for you in heaven. The more you deposit into it, the greater your account will be in heaven. In fact, a never ending Supply from the Creator will be available to you in the most difficult of days here on this earth and for the rest of eternity.
Scripture: “Sell your possessions and give to the poor. Provide purses for yourselves that will not wear out, a treasure in heaven that will not be exhausted, where no thief comes near and no moth destroys.” For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” Luke 12:33-34
Prayer: Dear Lord, My prayer today is simple. I want my heart and my treasure to be eternal and God honoring. Grant me the strength I pray to turn away from the lure of temporal gain and self-benefitting reward. Help me instead to become generous in heart so that my treasure is eternal. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
