God Promotes

God’s chosen path of humility and servant hood may look to some like a step backward.  But, rest assured that God’s ways are better and higher.  God alone can give a lasting reward, an eternal promotion that begins in the here and now and goes on, forever.

“Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus:  who, being in the very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped, but made himself nothing, taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself and became obedient to death – even death on a cross!  Therefore God exalted him to highest place and gave him the name that is above every name.” (Philippians 2:5-11)

Heavenly Lord, You have described the best way for me to live. Simple. Honest and dependant on you.  Help me to trust in your future and to remember today that you are the one who promotes and exalts.  I will look to you, and you alone, for my reward. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
