God Deserves Radical Obedience

July 31, 2009

God is so good and so abundantly generous every minute of every day that the only fitting response from you and me is to radically obey. It’s time walk away from all the life squelching, spirit deadening, joy killing influences and choose to follow God.

Scripture:  “As for me and my household, we will serve the Lord.” (Joshua 24:15)

Prayer:  God, forgive me for not living a focused and clear life.  I am making the commitment today to throw away every distraction, every hindrance and all the evil influences in my life.  I will serve You and You alone. In Jesus’ name,  Amen.

God’s Promises Never Fail

July 30, 2009

God’s word is true. All the time. He never has a slip of the tongue, a careless word or meaningless comment.  What He decrees will come to pass  – every time. What He says will happen — will happen.

Scripture: “Not one of all the Lord’s good promises to the house of Israel failed:  every one was fulfilled.” (Joshua 21:45)

Prayer:  God, You are gracious and good to me beyond what I deserve.  Thank You for the power of Your word and the effectiveness of Your promises.  I will watch today and see Your word come true in my world. In Jesus’ name,  Amen.

God Rewards the Faithful

July 29, 2009

God notices You.  He sees your hard work, your diligence and your faithfulness. He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him (Hebrews 11:6).  In the midst of your own struggles you can count on God to come through.

Scripture:  Caleb said, “I, however, have followed the Lord my God wholeheartedly. So on that day Moses said to me, ‘The land on which your feet have walked will be your inheritance and that of your children forever, because you have followed the Lord my God wholeheartedly.’” (Joshua 14: 8-9)

Prayer:  God, You are beyond amazing. Today I will believe what Your word says about me and my world and not what I see.  I will expect to see Your reward. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

God Gives the Victory

July 28, 2009

God is the guarantee of success for those who are fully devoted to Him.  When you feel surrounded by darkness, discouraged by circumstances or just numbed by the difficulties of life, call on God and He God will fight the battles on your behalf.

Scripture:  “All these kings and their lands Joshua conquered in one campaign, because the Lord, the God of Israel, fought for Israel.” (Joshua 10:42)

Prayer:  God you are Amazing.  To think that You, the Maker of heaven and earth, the Designer of all things good, will fight for me is beyond my own understanding.  I thank You for rescuing me today from the evil around me and delivering me into Your promise land.  In Jesus’ name, Amen.

God Owns the Universe

July 27, 2009

God is not limited by the forces of nature. He made them.  When Joshua was up against a huge enemy the problem was not too difficult for God.  The Lord adjusted the orbits of the sun and the earth so that His people would win the battle.

Scripture:  “So the sun stood still, and the moon stopped, till the nation avenged itself on its enemies.” (Joshua 10:13)

Prayer:  Heavenly Father, I am totally safe in You. You promise to fight for those who follow You and You have proven to move heaven and earth to insure that Your children are successful against their enemies.  I ask You today to protect me against the enemy of my soul and to bring me to a place of victory. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

God Sends Confusion to His Enemies, but Clarity to His Followers

July 26, 2009

God is the One who brings victory in your life.  He is a Conqueror over evil and already has a plan to take you to the next level of righteous and abundance with Him.  When you walk out your faith He is faithful to show you the way and throw the enemy around you into confusion.

Scripture:  “The Lord threw them into confusion before Israel, who defeated them in a great victory at Gibeon.” (Joshua 10:10)

Prayer:  Almighty God, Today I am walking in confidence because I know that you combine Your ultimate power with love for those who follow You.  Throw the evil around me into complete confusion as you did the enemies of Joshua, and deliver me from evil by bringing me peace and victory.  In Jesus’ name, Amen.

God Uses our Setbacks to Strengthen our Commitment to Him

July 25, 2009

God already knows that you are not perfect.  He is not standing over you waiting for you to stumble. In fact, just the opposite is true.  God is for you and is committed to give you the faith and courage you need to get past your failures and to bring victory your way.

Scripture:  “Then the Lord said to Joshua, ‘Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged. Take the whole army with you, and go up and attack Ai. For I have delivered into your hand the King of Ai, his people, his city and his land.’” (Joshua 8:1)

Prayer:  Forgiving and Merciful God, Thank you for leading me into victory and keeping me in the failures of my past. Your desire is for my good and for abundance to come my way.  I will not be afraid today, nor discouraged because I know that you are with me.  In Jesus’ name, Amen.

God Announces Complete Victory Before the Battle Begins

July 24, 2009

God is in charge of your world.  He knows when things go well and He watches your response to difficulty, trials and spiritual attacks.  Here is the Good News: when God sees your obedience to Him, He guarantees victory over your circumstances and struggles.

Scripture:  “Then the Lord said to Joshua, ‘See I have delivered Jericho into your hands, along with its king and its fighting men.”  (Joshua 6:2)

Prayer:  Heavenly Father, Forgive me today for being fixated on my own issues and not realizing that you have a battle for me to fight.  I trust you today to gain the victory on my behalf and to deliver me from evil.  In Jesus’ name, Amen.
