The Presence of God

Jonah1: 3 But Jonah ran away from the LORD and headed for Tarshish. He went down to Joppa, where he found a ship bound for that port. After paying the fare, he went aboard and sailed for Tarshish to flee from the LORD.
We cannot escape the presence of God. No matter how hard we try to flee from His presence, He remains closer to us than the air around us. Jonah spent a lot of money and energy in trying to get away from God and His purposes. But God made it clear that He will never leave or forsake us.
Heavenly Father, forgive me when I try to escape Your presence. Help me to accept Your plans and purposes for me. Give me the strength to say no to what I want and yes to Your ways. Your ways are better. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
