Daily Insight: God Listens
September 10, 2008 · Print This Article
Jonah 2:1-2 “From inside the fish Jonah prayed to the LORD his God. He said: “In my distress I called to the LORD, and he answered me. From the depths of the grave I called for help, and you listened to my cry.”
God hears our cries for help. He sees every pain and heartache. He knows every tear we cry, even if our tears are of our own making. God listens. Jonah prayed in his distress. What is your distress? Can you call to the Lord in the midst of your pain? He will answer your prayer.
Heavenly Father, I cry to you in my distress. Answer me. I call on You for help. You listen to me. There is no help for me, but from You. You are the strength of my heart and my portion, forever. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
